Ludlow After School Club
Ludlow Afterschool Club is the most established as it has been going for five years but we still get lots of interesting things for the students to have a go at and take home though I get the feeeling that some of them get eaten on the way home so a little apology to some parents who don't always get to try the goodies their children produce.
This year we started with Bread and Peter Cook of Prices the Bakers in Castle Square, click here to go to their website,

Peter is always very generous with his time and regularly comes to give demonstrations to our sessions, the time he showed the students how to make proper soda bread and while that was baking they made a wholemeal dough to take home and bake once it had proved.
Next came Lesley Mackley, a local food writer and cookery demonstrator, who writes recipes for Bart Spices. She showed the students how to make a delicious Red Thai Curry and under the watchful gaze of Ludlow newest Michelin starred restauranteur, Will Holland of La Becasse, who came along to see what happens at our sessions before he has a go in a few weeks time.

The folowing week came Lesleys son, Henry who has a passionate interest in using local seasonal foods and he didn't dissappoint us, he showed the students how to make a wonderful winter salad with rabbit fillets wrapped in local bacon, absolutely scrumptious. Everyone tried it and many said it was better than chicken.

Thie week we're going to Have Dudley martin from The Food Centre to talk about and taste their cheeses, more soon .......
