Skill Builders Projects

Ludlow festivals and events have allowed many schools and colleges across the Marches (Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Powys mid Wales) to showcase skills development. Skillbuilders could see that working more closely in partnership with other towns in other counties of the West Midlands we could achieve even more. Ludlow,  working with Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire schools, colleges and businesses can achieve more.

Skillbuilders started off by working with our region in an attempt to share best practice and champion the rural west of the region, this resulted in support from Advantage West Midlands in the 2001 with financial and networking assistance with the Skillbuilders at the Craft festival in Ludlow and at the Shrewsbury West mid Show.

Developing the Ludlow Marches event in Shropshire. Advantage west Midlands also supported the Festivals Together project which encouraged the festivals which use the castle to work together and purchase equipment and training which benefited them all and the volunteers who ensure the events happen and can be a show case opportunity for many things including Skillbuilders.

The Skillbuilders project had worked with our French twin town of Le Ferte Mace in Normandy and San Pietro in Cariano Northern Italy .

Over the last three years the young chef and afterschool food clubs have focused most of the Skillbuilders ambition, show casing the achievements and profiling Skillbuilders to the food festival audience.
